Dragon Slayer's Trial: Perseverance

Based on his reading of Merlinius’ memoirs, the Loremaster of Thornhill has set me on the path to attempt the wizard’s Trial of Perseverance.

The wizard left little in the way of details concerning his trials, expecting his champion to adapt to whatever they face. For this trial, all I know is that the champion must use their wits and persevere against heavy punishment.

It sounds like preparing my bags with healing supplies may be prudent.

The Trial of Perseverance is housed inside a vault the wizard placed within Silvermirror Fen, in a now partly flooded section of the area, southwest from the Witch’s Throne.

Once inside, I will also need to speak a magic word provided to me by the Loremaster...

I have reached the Vault of Perseverance within the southern reaches of the Silvermirror Fen, and now find my way barred by a magical door, placed to prevent unwitting explorers from entering.

According to the Loremaster, if I speak the correct words, the door should allow me to pass.

The word he gave me to utter was ‘Mellon’.

The door allows me to pass, but the true test still waits in the halls beyond. If this trial honors perseverance above all else, then I may have to endure a lot of hardship before it yields its prize.

Carrying healing supplies may prove worthwhile here.

I have endured the vault's ordeals and made it to the final chamber! It's time I claim the Dragon Slayer's shield.

I have endured the wizard's traps and passed the Trial of Perseverance! The Loremaster back in Thornhill will still want to verify that the artifact has not deteriorated over time.

He awaits me in his library, near the Brinebridge on the eastern side of the city.
